Resident Solutions Engineer (RSE) Support Services

Background
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Information Technology (IT) Enterprise Operations (EOPS) Server Support and Services Division (SSSD) is developing an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) process that automatically provisions infrastructure through source code managed configuration files without human interaction.

This approach ensures consistent environment provisioning, facilitating efficient, secure, and resilient operations. The contract aims to provide engineering support services related to HashiCorp Terraform Solutions configurations, enhancing the IRS's IaC capabilities.

Work Details
The scope of this task order encompasses engineering support services related to HashiCorp Solutions. The Resident Solutions Engineer (RSE) will work with the IRS IT EOPS SSSD on HashiCorp Terraform configuration, providing comprehensive support for the IaC as code server management process and configured environment.

Key tasks include:
1. Collaborating with the HashiCorp RSA and/or SE on implementation plans;
2. Executing the technical plans created by the RSA or SE;
3. Assisting in creating customer-specific support documentation, runbooks, and playbooks;
4. Applying software patches and upgrades for Solutions in Non-Production Environment.

Exclusions from RSE engagement include any modifications to production environments, non-HashiCorp solutions, services outside of business hours, and project management of customer resources.

Period of Performance
Four (4) months after contract award.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at locations specified by the IRS.
