Description

This is an Industry Day/Request for Information (RFI) notice. The intent of this notice is received industry comment on a Speed Increaser Rehabilitation project, using the Unit 1 Speed Increaser Webbers Falls Powerhouse project as a sample. This notice is being issued for planning and information purposes only. This notice is not a solicitation, nor is it to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government will not pay for any effort expended in responding to this notice, nor will the Government accept proposals as a result of this notice.

Project Description: The example project is a complete turn-key repair of the existing speed increaser at Webbers Falls Powerhouse. Work would include design, fabrication, testing and installation of a complete new gear set, base rings, shrink rings, shrink lock rings, nuts, bolts, gear keys and related components as specified. The gear set consists of one low speed bull gear, two low speed pinions, two high speed gears and one high speed pinion. The expectation is to disassemble, inspect, and reassemble the speed increaser with new gears, pinions, and other components. Also, it is expected that work includes the disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and reassembly of the Falk speed increaser gearbox. Estimated duration of this project is 450 calendar days.

Responses are due by 26 April 2024. This announcement seeks information from industry, which will be used for preliminary planning and design purposes for Speed Increaser Rehabilitation projects. Please review and submit answers to the questions listed under the Industry RFI Questions for Speed Increaser Rehabilitation' form attached with this announcement and send it via email to dario.m.rissone@usace.army.mil and shawn.g.brady@usace.army.mil. Please include any additional questions and/or suggestions to the plans and specifications that your firm may have. For those firms that submit an Industry RFI-Questions for Speed Increaser Rehabilitation', a one-on-one meeting with the Government Design Team may/can be scheduled in order to explain the firm's reasoning/rationale to reasoning/rationale to the questions and their responses. Responders shall also include the organization name and point of contact.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Specific information pertaining to any future procurement will be available within a solicitation and will be posted on the SAM.gov website. It is, and will continue to be, the responsibility of all potential Offerors to monitor the SAM.gov website for any future solicitations, amendments, updates, responses to industry questions/comments, etc. The Government will not be maintaining a mailing list.

In accordance with FAR 36.204/DFARS 236.204, the estimated construction price range for this project is between $10,000,000.00 to $25,000,000.00.
