Repair of LN-251 INS/GPS Navigation System

Background
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Aircraft Operations Center (AOC) at Lakeland, FL operates two (2) WP-3D Orion aircraft in support of several operational projects, notably tropical cyclone reconnaissance and research. Each aircraft is equipped with a Multi-Mode Radar (MMR) and an LN-251 INS/GPS Navigation System. The LN-251 units on two of AOC’s aircraft have failed to align and require servicing. The US Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is seeking repair services for the LN-251 INS/GPS Navigation System.

Work Details
The work involves the repair of LN-251 INS/GPS Navigation System units used in the WP-3D Orion aircraft operated by NOAA's Aircraft Operations Center at Lakeland, FL. The repair services are required to ensure that the units align properly and function effectively. The contractor must possess full troubleshooting and repair capability for the LN-251 units, as well as access to proprietary schematics and minimum performance standards. The requirement must be compatible in all aspects with existing systems and equipment.
