Background
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is responsible for reducing deaths, injuries, and economic losses resulting from motor vehicle crashes. NHTSA's various data systems are the only source of real-world crash data for conducting basic research, identifying problem areas, developing effective countermeasures, identifying program and rulemaking needs, evaluating new technologies, and providing information to accurately assess and allocate grants for reducing crashes. NHTSA's NCSA operates data programs consisting of records-based system: the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS), the Crash Reporting Sampling System (CRSS); and the Non-Traffic Surveillance program.

Work Details
The objective of this contract is to provide timely, efficient, effective support to NHTSA, and its partners, in managing the NHTSA’s FARS, CRSS and NTS records-based crash data systems. The activities include but are not limited to providing quality control, statistical support, technical guidance, and maintaining a recoding quality assurance program. This contract will provide for quality control and technical guidance for FARS sites in each of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico as well as the Crash Report Sampling System (CRSS) for 60 sites.
