Background
The U.S. Army at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield operates approximately 22 miles of railroad track, with services provided under this contract being performed in portions of Liberty and Chatham Counties, Georgia.

The goal of this contract is to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of the railroad track systems through comprehensive maintenance and repair services.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items necessary to perform railroad maintenance and repair as defined in the Performance Work Statement (PWS).

The work includes:
- On-call Maintenance and Repair: Non-emergency tasks such as maintaining mile posts, tightening bolts, cleaning switch/frogs;
- Emergency Repairs for derailed locomotives or railcars;
- Miscellaneous Compliance Items for unforeseen repairs;
- Ensuring compliance with Federal Railway Administration (FRA) Class 2 standards.

Specific tasks include replacing worn or damaged rail sections, changing ties with new composite ties, ballast work including removal and installation of ballast, and maintaining safety standards as per OSHA regulations. The contractor is responsible for all materials purchased and must maintain clean work areas.

Period of Performance
The contract period includes one base year of 12 months starting from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025, followed by four optional years each lasting 12 months.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield in Georgia.
