Background
The Department of the Air Force, 18th Contracting Squadron at Kadena Air Base, Japan, has issued a pre-solicitation notice for a RADON mitigation system (251 UN) to include military family housing on Kadena Air Base and US Marine Corps Bases on Okinawa, Japan. The prospective contract action will be firm-fixed price (FFP) with an estimated price range between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The estimated total performance time is 388 calendar days.

Work Details
The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, testing, plan, design, and management to upgrade or install reliable and functional radon mitigation systems for 251 housing units. The work includes pre-installation inspection, gathering relevant site data and review of existing drawings and radon sampling data.
It also involves determining the size, location, and configuration of radon mitigation systems to maintain radon levels under specified limits. The project covers various military family housing units located in Kadena Air Base and US Marine Corps Camps on Okinawa, Japan.
The work also involves installation using active soil depressurization (ASD) techniques and employing sub-slab depressurization (SSD) methods. Additionally, the Contractor is responsible for restoration of excavated and damaged areas to their original condition.

The place of performance includes Kadena Air Base (to include Chibana Housing), Camp Shields (O’Donnell Garden Housing), Camp Lester (New and Old Lester Housing), Camp Foster (Futenma, Chatan, Sada, and Kishaba Terrace and Plaza), Camp Kinser, and Camp Courtney (to include Camp McTureous) in Okinawa, Japan.
