Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this solicitation for Document Shredding Services to support the Charles George Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in Asheville, NC, and associated outpatient clinics. Work Details
The contractor will provide all necessary transportation, materials, tools, equipment, labor, supervision, and technical expertise to deliver document shredding services at various VA locations. Key tasks include:
- On-site shredding and collection of documents from designated bins at the Asheville VAMC and its outpatient clinics.
- Development and approval of a Document Shredding Plan that outlines methods for secure shredding and final destruction of materials.
- Ensuring that shred bins are not left unattended and are secured after collection.
- Providing Certificates of Interim Destruction after each shredding session and a monthly report on recyclables.
- Compliance with all HIPAA regulations and VA directives regarding document handling and destruction.
- Coordination with the Environmental Management Services as the Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
- Conducting services every Wednesday at Asheville VAMC, with additional pickups at other clinics as specified in the contract.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is from August 16, 2024, to August 15, 2025, with four option years available for renewal.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at multiple locations including:
- Charles George VAMC in Asheville, NC;
- VA Franklin Outpatient Clinic;
- HBPC clinic in Franklin, NC;
- CBOC locations in Franklin, Hickory, and Rutherfordton, NC.
