Follow Yard Services for DDG 51 AEGIS Class Ships   2

The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue, on a sole-source basis, contract N00024-11-C-2303 to Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding, Inc. (NGSB) (a wholly owned subsidiary of Huntington Ingalls Industries, Incorporated (HII)), P.O. Box 149, Pascagoula, MS 39568 for the accomplishment of follow-yard engineering and technical support for DDG 51 Class follow ship configuration. As the follow-yard ship designer and builder, NGSB is the only firm capable of providing timely and effective follow-yard services to support DDG 51 Class follow-yard construction. NGSB has the requisite familiarity and knowledge of DDG 51 Class configurations as well as a detailed understanding of the construction techniques and practices used to build these ships. The resultant contract will be for one year with options for up to four additional years. See numbered Note 22. This pre-solicitation notice is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable.
