Proposers Day Announcement: Heterogenous Adaptively Produced Photonic Interfaces (HAPPI)

Background
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is hosting an in-person Proposers Day for the Heterogenous Adaptively Produced Photonic Interfaces (HAPPI) program. The event aims to provide information about the HAPPI program, facilitate discussions, address questions from potential proposers, and allow attendees to share their capabilities and ideas for teaming arrangements.

The goal of the HAPPI program is to significantly enhance information movement density within microsystems using photonic signaling, enabling new system architectures for various applications.

Work Details
The Proposers Day will include overview presentations by government personnel and opportunities for team building among participants. Attendees will have the chance to engage in lightning rounds to showcase their capabilities and discuss teaming requirements.

Breakout sessions with the HAPPI Program Manager will also be available for one-on-one discussions on specific topics. The program aims to develop advanced concepts for 3D chip-to-chip and intra-chip optical routing, focusing on creating robust optical interfaces that can withstand typical microsystem misalignments. The scope excludes chip-to-fiber coupling and active optoelectronic component development.
