Preventive Maintenance and Repair of Mass Spectrometry Equipment

Background
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), part of the National Institutes of Health, is located in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. Its mission is to reduce the burden of disease and dysfunctions associated with environmental factors through research. This contract aims to ensure the continued operation and maintenance of mass spectrometry equipment critical for NIEHS's research efforts.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive preventive maintenance and repair services for mass spectrometry equipment, including:

1) One annual mechanical and electrical preventive maintenance visit per year, during which necessary repairs or replacements are made;

2) Coverage for additional repair/service visits, including all travel, labor, equipment, supplies, and parts costs;

3) Telephone technical support;

4) Firmware updates and software upgrades.

The contractor must maintain a current list of all instruments covered by the contract and provide an updated list quarterly. The contractor is responsible for safeguarding government property serviced under this contract and must remove all waste materials after service.

Specific tasks include:

a) Preventive Maintenance - at least one inspection per year with adjustments made as necessary;

b) Repair Service - restore instruments to optimum capacity with a maximum response time of 72 hours for emergency repairs;

c) Replacement Parts - furnish manufacturer-approved parts at no additional cost;

d) Reporting Requirements - submit service reports upon completion of each service call, monthly reports summarizing requests received/completed, and affix servicing stickers to each instrument after service.

Period of Performance
12 months from the date of award.
