Prefabricated Fiberglass Shelters

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) intends to award a single source contract to Dupont Building, Inc., Bell City, LA, for pre-assembled fiberglass equipment shelters for the housing and installation of electronic equipment including but not limited to navigation, landing, lighting and related equipment, communication equipment, weather equipment, engine generators and other equipment for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other Government sites. The current requirement is for a one (1) year contract with six (6) month option period.

In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System Paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single source procedures. The FAALC Shelter Program customers have specific and detailed shelter requirements and Dupont has created processes to ensure the customers' requirements are met.

Dupont has the specialized expertise in creating prefabricated fiberglass equipment shelters and has provided the FAALC shelters for over 20 years. Dupont has been proven capable of manufacturing shelters in accordance with FAA rules and guidelines to ensure the shelters in compliance with the applicable portions of the IBC, IMC, NEC & IECC. Dupont has implemented major manufacturing practices to ensure our customers are provided the best shelter configuration for their specific requirement.

A market survey (6973GH-23-MS-00008) was posted to the SAM.gov web site on January 3, 2023. Only Dupont Building provided a response to the market survey that fully met the required capability statement.

The proposed principle North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 238990 All Other Specialty Trade Contractors, with a size standard of $19 million.
