Pipette Calibration

Background
The Naval Medical Research Unit San Antonio (NAMRU-SA) is conducting research that requires calibrated and properly functioning pipettes for good laboratory practice. The volume precision is necessary for transferring, dilutions, and measuring in various laboratory assays.

Work Details
The requirement is for a multi-year service contract to provide a level II on-site calibration at the Tri-Service Research Laboratory building for 75 single-channel and 20 multi-channel pipettes. The service required will include Planned Maintenance (PM) and Repair, then recording 4 'As Left' report data. The level II PM includes cleaning the piston, re-greasing, replacing seals, replacing o-rings, inspecting the body for damage, checking plunger and ejector for smooth operation, and adjusting the pipette if necessary.
PM stickers will be affixed on each pipette with identified serial number, calibration date, and next calibration due date. Test equipment used by the vendor must be calibrated and traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The vendor will provide a calibration certificate in either paper and/or digital format.

Period of Performance
The period of performance is a base period of 12 months, followed by four 12-month option periods for a total of 60 months. The period of performance for this contract is anticipated to be Monday – Friday (0730-1700) with travel as required to perform on-site calibration.
