Pest Control Services for SFSC in Sterling, VA

Background
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) intends to award a firm fixed price contract for Pest Control Services for the Sterling Support Center (SFSC) located in Sterling, Virginia.

The SFSC is part of the National Weather Service (NWS) and occupies a 230-acre parcel that includes laboratory buildings and outdoor meteorological testbeds. The goal of this contract is to ensure effective pest management within the SFSC facilities, excluding the Baltimore-Washington Regional Forecast Office.

Work Details
The contractor will perform two primary tasks:

1) Pest Control for SFSC Buildings, which includes providing traps, bait stations, chemicals, and equipment necessary to prevent and control rodent and common pest populations such as rats, mice, spiders, cockroaches, ants, and millipedes. This involves vector control to monitor rodent populations with monthly checks of bait stations, ensuring they are anchored against wind. Insect control will also be conducted to prevent damage to structures and ensure user safety. Appropriate spraying chemicals will be used monthly in interior spaces.

2) Grounds Tick Spraying involves spraying grassy areas surrounding SFSC gates, buildings, and testbeds on a monthly basis from April to October to reduce tick populations. This includes applying chemicals effectively while adhering to environmental regulations and coordinating with site mowing schedules.

Period of Performance
The contract will be for a base year plus four additional option years.
