Periodic and Unscheduled Maintenance, F-16 Hydrazine Neutralization System   3

Background
The F-16 Hydrazine Neutralization System (Mfg. Enviro DTS, System #25296) located in Building 630 at Spangdahlem AB, Germany requires periodic and unscheduled maintenance/repair. The system handles a blend of 70 percent hydrazine and 30 percent water, known as H-70 fuel, used to operate the F-16 emergency power unit (EPU). The H-70 tanks are removed from the aircraft when the fuel is depleted below a specified level and are delivered to the servicing facility for maintenance.

Work Details
The Contractor is required to perform operational tests, inspections, cleaning, and preventative maintenance on the direct digital control system and mechanical parts such as piping, valves, pumps, pH-metering system, analyzers, and chemical tanks. Specific tasks include semi-annual preventative maintenance, monthly calibration of chemicals within the ammonium analyzer, annual replacement of various Gas Warning Sensors (N2H4, O2, and Methane LCIR), annual servicing of the air compressor system, and unscheduled maintenance/repairs as requested when the system displays warnings and faults. The Contractor is also responsible for submitting requirements for additional equipment, materials or repairs highlighted within the monthly or semi-annual service reports.
