Orthopedic Prescription Safety Footwear Supplies and Services Washington, DC Currency Facility

Background
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) for the purpose of providing Orthopedic Prescription (Rx) Safety Footwear for employees at the Washington, DC Currency Facility. The facility employs approximately 1,200 persons and operates 24 hours a day, up to seven days a week. As part of its Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Program, the facility requires employees to wear protective safety footwear when entering and/or working in designated foot hazardous areas.

Work Details
The scope of work involves providing customized Orthopedic/Prescription (Rx) Safety Footwear for the employees of the Bureau of Engraving (BEP), Washington, DC Currency Facility (DCF). The contractor shall schedule employees to visit their facility for an initial consultation and fitting as necessary. The contractor will perform all necessary procedures such as fitting, molding of the feet, manufacturing shoes to specifications detailed on the employees’ Rx, and scheduling post-manufacture fittings. All Rx safety footwear shall meet ASTM F2413-11 standards. The contractor shall also provide a point of contact with telephone, email, and fax numbers to the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) upon award of the BPA.

Period of Performance
The Period of Performance includes five ordering periods from December 15, 2021, to December 14, 2026.

Place of Performance
The contractor’s office for services shall be within 25 miles of the Washington, DC Currency Facility.
