Nuclear Flash Blindness (NFB) Goggles Modernization (previously known as POLARIZED LEAD ZIRCONIUM TITANATE (PLZT) Goggles)

REPUBLISHING this notice with a revised Sources Sought version Nov 8, 2021 that updates the NAICS to 334511 and replaced SS version May 7, 2021. The attachment REVISED NFB Goggles Sources Sought provides details and information for the contractor's response. The second attachment is the DRAFT Statement of Work that is subject to revision.

The government is conducting market research to identify potential sources to meet a modernization capability for NFB Goggles (NSN 8475-01-017-4473 and 8475-01-099-6707) assemblies (lens, control modules, frame, and housings) may require a combination of the following: replacing failing circuitry, mitigation of lens degradation, power compatibility analysis with aircraft, electronic control module upgrades, lens housing upgrades, liquid crystal lens upgrades, frame hardware, and shipping container upgrades. NFB Goggles is also known as Polarized Lead Zirconium Titanate (PLZT) Goggles. The government's anticipated strategy will be a five year contract (basic plus four option years). The projected quantity for this modernization is 2,000 assemblies with a range min 300 to max 400 per year.
