NRS Rhinelander, WI Replace 2 Electrical Panels 600 AMP and 100 AMP with surge protection   2

Background
The solicitation is for the replacement of outdated 600 AMP circuit breaker panel and breakers, along with 100 AMP panel and breakers with surge protection at the Northern Research Station in Rhinelander, WI. The existing panels do not provide a positive lockout tag out on circuit breakers and are considered too old, posing a major safety concern when replacing any equipment or lighting in the 1960’s wing.

Work Details
The contractor is required to perform specific tasks, including removing the old 600 AMP and 100 AMP panels for the 1960’s wing, fixing any old worn-out wire that does not meet NFPA or electrical code, installing new 600 AMP main and 100 AMP sub panels with hard-piped and secured wiring, installing new breakers into the panel labeled to the location they feed, and installing surge protection system to protect high dollar lab equipment. All work is to be done during normal working hours, with the Facilities Operation Specialist arranging lab shutdown and telework arrangements with building personnel.
