Q&A's for new doors for Coast Guard Station Islamorada Florida 03/26/2021

1. Door Sizes (rough estimate) Measurements include the size of door with door frame.

Mess Deck Door: 42.5 x 85
Main Entry Door: 35.5 x 85.5
COMMS Door: 36.5 x 84.5
Rear Entry Exit Door: 36.5 x 80.5
Rec Deck Door (Near Gym): 39.5 x 85.5
Rec Deck Door: 39.25 x 85.5

2. Wall Types
All exterior walls appear to be constructed out of cement with stucco applied to exterior side.
The internal COMMS door wall appears to be constructed out of sheetrock.

3. Fire Rating Requirements
All doors should be fire rated for a minimum of 60 minutes (1 hour).

4. Elevations Unknown

5. Hardware Type (Exit Device or Locking Hardware)
The exit device should be a panic push bar design. Mounted in accordance with any state/local requirements.
For the locking mechanism, we are looking to outfit all doors with the Kaba E-Plex E2031XSLL626 entry locks.

This combined synopsis/solicitation for supply/installation services prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This synopsis/solicitation is being advertised as Small Business Set-Aside only. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; no separate written solicitation will be issued.

Applicable North American Industry Classification Standard (NAICS) codes are:

238290 Other Building Equipment Contractors, Standard size in Millions ($16.5)

This requirement is for a Firm fixed price contract. The contract will be awarded using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR part 13 and part 15
The Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, Best Value.
When submitting your proposals, request a price breakdown of the following:

  1. Cost of labor and supervision for the installation of the doors
  2. Cost of materials and equipment needed to perform the work per provide SOW.

Interested vendors shall also provide along with your proposal, past performance documents which will be used to determine competency to perform work outlined in the SOW.

Contract will be awarded to the vendor who can provide/perform the work requested within the SOW in the time frame needed by unit. Past Performance and Cost factors will also be used when selecting the award.

Anticipated award date: 10 business days after close of solicitation, OOA 20 April 2021

SCOPE OF WORK: Contractor to provide all labor, supervision, materials and equipment to remove existing doors and replace with 6 new door to include frame, threshold and hardware per provided SOW at Coast Guard Station Islamorada, Florida.

Islamorada, FL. 33036

Performance Period: Performance of work is expected to commence NLT 10 business days after award is made. Extension period must be approved by the Contracting Officer for any unforeseen delays.

Site visit: It is highly recommended and encouraged that interested parties attend the scheduled site visit on Thursday March 25th at 0900 to field verify the requirements within the SOW. For access to the Station, contact Chief Keith Harris at 305-664-8077 or via email at Keith.G.Harris@uscg.mil. All visitors must have a photo ID prior to entering the Station.
