Native Language Translation Services for OIED   2

Background
The Indian Affairs (IA) Office of Indian Economic Development (OIED) seeks to provide Native Language translation services to various federal agencies. This initiative aims to ensure that media and documentation are accessible in Native languages, thereby supporting tribal community access to information. The project is in collaboration with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and addresses the needs of 574 federally recognized Tribal Nations across the United States, including 229 tribes in Alaska.

Work Details
The contractor will provide written translation services for the following languages and dialects: Yu'pik (Central dialect), Cherokee (Western dialect), Ojibwe (Western dialect), and Navajo. Services will include:

1. Translation of official documents, signage, and website content into multiple indigenous languages.
2. Use of translation contractors on an as-needed/project-based frequency.
3. Delivery of translations in Microsoft Word format with separate files for each language.
4. A verified Quality Assurance process to evaluate cultural accuracy.
5. Response times may vary based on project size, with a typical range from a few weeks to a month.
6. Opportunities for federal agencies to provide feedback on translations, with revisions made as necessary before final delivery confirmed by the OIED Director.
