MLT/MT Services for White Earth Health Center

Background
The Indian Health Service (IHS) is issuing this Request for Proposal (RFP) to address staffing shortages at the White Earth Health Center in Ogema, MN.

The mission of the White Earth Service Unit is to deliver quality healthcare services with an emphasis on cultural sensitivity and human dignity. This contract aims to secure qualified Medical Lab Technicians (MLT) and/or Medical Technologists (MT) to ensure uninterrupted patient care.

Work Details
The contractor will provide up to two Medical Lab Technician (MLT) and/or Medical Technician (MT) staff to fulfill staffing shortages in the laboratory. The services include:
- Laboratory specimen collection, processing, testing, and reporting for eligible patients including pediatrics, adults, and elderly.
- Collection and preparation of specimens for routine testing or referral to reference laboratories.
- Performing routine and specialized laboratory tests in microbiology, hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, and serology.
- Conducting quality control procedures on equipment, reagents, and products; troubleshooting quality control issues as needed.
- Performing preventative maintenance on instruments; troubleshooting malfunctions and identifying needs for external service.
- Following all laboratory technical procedures, safety protocols, and blood-borne pathogen policies.
- Participating in laboratory proficiency testing and quality assurance programs.
- Completing and filing laboratory reports; ordering and maintaining supplies as necessary.
- Ensuring a neat and orderly laboratory environment while adhering to infection control practices and accreditation standards.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the White Earth Health Center located in Ogema, MN, as well as at the Naytahwaush Satellite Clinic in Naytahwaush, MN, and the Pine Point Satellite Clinic in Ponsford, MN.
