Background
The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) has awarded a modification to existing contract N0002421C5322 to L3Harris. In accordance with 10 USC 3204(a)(1), as implemented by 6.302-1, there is only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The MK 20 EOSS is an integral element of the MK 34 and MK 48 Gun Weapon System fielded on Aegis Cruisers and Destroyers.

Work Details
The MK 20 EOSS consists of an above deck, self-stabilized pedestal (elevation over azimuth orientation) mounting, an electro-optical sensor suite, and below deck equipment enclosures hosting associated equipment.
The electro-optical sensor suite consists of a Daylight Imaging Sensor, Thermal Imaging Sensor, and Laser Range Finder.
The below deck Power Supply Unit and an Interface Electronics Unit will host the components necessary to support the EOSS primary interface to the ship.

Period of Performance
Authority to act under this Class Justification and Approval (CJ&A) expires on September 28, 2025.
