Mission Auxillary Fuel Tank System (MATS) Containers for the V-22 Aircraft   2

The Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue a sole source contract to Container Research Corporation, Aston PA, for the procurement of Mission Auxillary Fuel Tank System Containers (MATS) for the V-22 aircraft. The containers will be used to store the MATS for the United States Marine Corps (USMC) MV-22, the United States Navy (USN), CMV-22, the United States Air Force (USAF) CV-22 and Government of Japan (GoJ) aircraft variants.

Tasking will include necessary labor, equipment, facilities, material, parts, testing, technical data, engineering support and logistical support required to manufacture, assemble and deliver the MATS Containers.

This action is being awarded on a sole source basis to the Container Research Corporation in accordance with the statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition under Title 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR Part 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." Container Research Corporation is the sole designer, developer and manufacturer of steel and aluminum containers utilized for the V-22 and is the only known source that currently posseses sufficient requisite knowledge, engineering expertise, and technical data required to perform this effort in a timely and cost effective manner. No other source has the technical qualification and necessary resources to perform the work described herein, nor will any other supplies or services satisfy the Government's requirements.
