Amendment 0001 to Synopsis (7/23): The amendment is to provide notice of a change in acquisition strategy. Due to additional market research, this action will be pursued on a sole source basis with Milpower, Inc under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1.

Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), St. Inigoes, Maryland intends to award a three year firm fixed-price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract for the procurement of up to thirty-five (35) brand name mandatory MilPower, Inc. (MILPOWER) AM-7581A/SRC 100 Watt Power Amplifiers (Part Number (P/N) 34000-1), and up to twenty-five (25) MILPOWER AM-7584V/SRC 200 Watt Power Amplifiers (P/N 26000-2), including associated parts for mounting hardware kits, rails, and power cords, for the Ultra High Frequency (UHF) / Very High Frequency (VHF), Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Communication System for the Maritime Security Cutter. This action shall be competed amongst MILPOWER and its authorized distributors. This effort is to acquire hardware that has been proven to meet sponsor mandated requirements, and is backward compatible with systems already fielded. MILPOWER retains their proprietary rights to the Power Amplifiers and associated mounting hardware slides and power cords, for which the Government does not possess data/rights to the required power amplifiers which meet the required form, fit and function criteria. The government intends to award this requirement under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the Government will consider all responses received to this notice. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No solicitation will be available for this procurement.
