M88A1 and M88A2 Engine Overhaul   3

SUBJECT: This is a competitive solicitation for the overhaul of the M88A1 Air Cooled, V-Engine Configuration, Diesel Supercharged (AVDS) 1790-2DR Engine with Container and the overhaul of the M88A2 AVDS-1790-8CR Engine with Container. The Government intends to award up to but no more than two Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ), Firm-Fixed-Priced(FFP)/Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee contracts over five years, using Full and Open Competition. Best Value Trade-off will be used for evaluating the proposals received.
Description: The M88A1 utilizes the AVDS 1790-2DR Engine, a 750 horsepower (hp) Super Turbocharged Fuel Injected, 90 Degree "V" type, Air-Cooled, 12-Cylinder Diesel Engine. The M88A2 Improved recovery Vehicle Heavy Equipment Recovery Combat Utility Lift and Evacuation System (HERCULES) utilizes the AVDS 1790-8CR Engine, a 1050 hp Super Turbocharged Fuel Injected, 90 Degree "V" Type, Air-Cooled, 12-Cylinder Diesel Engine. This effort will be for the Inspection, teardown, reporting and overhauling of the AVDS 1790-8CR and AVDS-2CR engine.
