Background
The project involves the Lower San Joaquin River, CA, Reach TS30L Levee Improvements Project. The Feasibility Study's recommended plan has been divided into five major levee reaches for construction sequencing: Calaveras River (Right Bank), Calaveras River (Left Bank), San Joaquin River (Right Bank, North Port), Delta Front, and Fourteenmile Slough Control Structure. The Delta Front represents the greatest risk, and construction of the Project will begin with the Delta Front levees. Reach TS30L is one of six reaches in the Delta Front and was selected for final design and construction. Reach TS30L levee improvements include modifying approximately 5900 feet existing levee geometry to meet current levee design and operation standards, constructing a 31 to 55 foot deep slurry bentonite cutoff wall installation, and adding rock slope protection on the waterside (western) levee slope.

Work Details
The work details include various construction tasks such as mobilization and demobilization, SWPPP design and implementation, traffic control, demolition, dust control, removal/replacement of stone protection, clearing, grubbing, and stripping, high security fencing and gates, 30" drainage pipe installation, guard rail installation, excavation of 202,852 cubic yards, stone protection of 34,937 cubic yards, SB cutoff wall of 17,550 square feet, levee fill stockpile of 222,959 cubic yards, levee fill borrow of 43,633 cubic yards, aggregate surfacing of 20,724,000 pounds, and aggregate base triple chip seal of 11,553 square yards.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for the contract is from April 1st to June 13th in the year 2024.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed in Lower San Joaquin River Basin at Reach TS30L.
