Laundry and Linen Services | Erie VA Medical Center | AMENDED   2

Background
This solicitation is issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs for a 5-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for Laundry and Linen Services at the Erie VA Medical Center.

The goal of this contract is to provide comprehensive laundry and linen services, ensuring that all processes meet established healthcare standards and practices. The contractor will be responsible for maintaining sanitary conditions and adhering to industry standards set by recognized organizations.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide complete laundry/linen services, including:
1. Operation of a physical laundry plant.
2. Provision of labor, management, support, ancillary equipment, vehicles, supplies, linens, and textiles necessary for service delivery.
3. Compliance with standards established by the National Association of Institutional Linen Management (NAILM), International Fabricare Institute (IFI), and Textile Rental Services Association (TRSA).
4. Maintenance of sanitary conditions as per Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) requirements.
5. Establishment of a system for record-keeping to control and report work performed.
6. Provision of all linen required except for patient personal clothing and select specialty linens provided by the government.
7. Physical separation of clean and soiled linen during processing to maintain hygiene standards.
8. Re-cleaning of any unsatisfactorily cleaned items at no additional cost to the government.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is from November 11, 2024, through November 10, 2029.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Erie VA Medical Center located at 135 East 38th Street, Erie, PA 16504.
