Background
The solicitation is for a Large Capacity Weight Handling Equipment Multiple Award Contract issued by the Navy Crane Center, Naval Facilities Engineering Command. It is intended to fulfill varying weight handling equipment requirements of the Navy, Marine Corp, and other federal activities worldwide.

Work Details
The contract requires the ordering of new and overhaul of existing weight handling equipment (WHE) such as bridge cranes, jib cranes, and gantry cranes for Navy, Marine Corps, and other federal activities worldwide. The work includes:
- Site survey/investigation
- Design
- Fabrication
- Crane rail alignment survey/installation
- Demolition/removal of existing cranes and equipment
- Runway/equipment electrification
- Crane installation/testing/training.
Cranes must be designed and manufactured according to specific standards and certifications. The contract also includes a seed project for the replacement of a 50-ton bridge crane at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

Period of Performance
The duration of the contract is for one year from the date of the contract award with four one-year option periods.

Place of Performance
The weight handling equipment will be delivered to various locations worldwide including Navy Crane Center (NAVCRANECEN), Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine.
