Background
The project consists of raising the JOI DMCA perimeter dike by approximately six (6) feet, raising the bird island containment dike, rehabilitation of the five (5) existing weir/water control structures across the back (marsh/north-side) dike, and regrading and raising of the barge landing, access ramp, and dredge pipe ramps. The project is titled 'Jones Oysterbed Island (JOI) Dredged Material Containment Area (DMCA) Dike Raising and Weir Improvements Savannah Harbor, Jasper County, South Carolina.' The solicitation was issued by the Department of the Army, Corps of Engineers, Savannah District Contracting Office.

Work Details
The work includes various construction tasks such as raising dikes, rehabilitation of existing structures, regrading and raising of ramps. The project also involves mobilization and demobilization, hauling of rock within embankment footprint to stockpile location, repairs and modifications to weirs JO1, JO2, JO3, JO4, JO5, temporary silt fence installation and removal, clearing within DMCA JOI, dike and ramp embankment fill from within DMCA JOI, hot gas extrusion thermoplastic welds for repairs to weirs JO1, JO2, JO3, JO4, and JO5, DMCA JOI dike and ramp grassing. The estimated overall bid for the project ranges from $11,176,205.00 to $13,785,445.00.
