Background
The USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is seeking to procure janitorial services for its Plant Protection Quarantine (PPQ) facility located in Jacksonville, FL. The goal of this contract is to maintain a clean and sanitary environment within the facility, which supports the agency's mission of protecting U.S. agriculture and natural resources.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all personnel, supervision, transportation, materials, supplies, and equipment necessary to perform janitorial services as outlined in the Statement of Work. Services will be performed twice weekly during USDA work hours, with specific tasks including: vacuuming carpeted areas, sweeping and mopping tile flooring, cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, dusting surfaces, emptying trash containers, and maintaining cleanliness in offices, common areas, lab rooms, kitchenette, and warehouse.

Monthly tasks include dusting picture frames and cleaning supply pipes under sinks. Quarterly tasks involve cleaning refrigerators and ceiling vents. Semi-annual floor care includes stripping and waxing vinyl floors. Annual tasks consist of carpet shampooing by extraction method. The contractor must also appoint a competent supervisor for quality control and ensure compliance with safety and security requirements.

Period of Performance
The base contract period is from the contract award date through Month 12, followed by four optional periods of 12 months each.
