Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs is issuing this solicitation for emergency boiler cleaning services at the Northport VA Medical Center. The goal of the contract is to ensure the operational efficiency and safety of Boiler #3, which is over ten years past its life expectancy. This service is critical to maintain the facility's heating systems and support the overall mission of providing quality care to veterans.

Work Details
The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision necessary to thoroughly clean both the fire and water sides of Boiler #3 located in Boiler Plant Building 203 at the Northport VA Medical Center. Specific tasks include:
- Employing qualified mechanics with a minimum of 5 years in high-pressure boiler maintenance and repair experience.
- Performing mechanical cleaning of fire sides and water sides, including steam and mud drums.
- Removing soot, carbon, ash, and fuel deposits from all boiler tubes.
- Locking out all relevant systems (atomizing steam, control air, feed water supply) prior to commencing work.
- Conducting work in compliance with OSHA-EPA regulations and local codes.
- Completing all work within 10 working days once started, with a minimum on-site presence of 5 working days required.
- Providing reports and recommendations to the Boiler Plant Supervisor upon completion.
