SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy. As a management and operating contractor, subcontracts awarded by the Laboratory are not Federal procurements, and are not directly subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulations in 48 CFR. Nonetheless, certain Federal laws, Executive Orders, and regulations may affect our DOE approved purchasing system, as required by statute, regulation, or contract terms and conditions.

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory invites interested vendors to submit a proposal in accordance with the attached RFP preparation requirements for the ITAR JIRA#1844 Mode Converter Pumpout Assembly. Any clarification requests are due by Monday, May 5, 2025. Your proposal must be received no later than Friday, May 16, 2025, 5:00 PM PDT, and be valid for 90 days after submission.

Background
The SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy, is seeking proposals for the ITAR JIRA#1844 Mode Converter Pumpout Assembly. This solicitation is not a federal procurement and is subject to certain federal laws and regulations. The goal of this contract is to acquire a U.S. domestic end item source for the specified assembly.

Work Details
The contract requires the delivery of 12 ITAR Mode Converter Pumpout Assemblies. Offerors must provide a firm-fixed price proposal that includes compliance with specifications outlined in Section C of the RFP. Key requirements include:
- Submission of Quality Control (QC) reports for all units shipped.
- Submission of Leak Test reports for all units shipped.
- Packaging of completed units in nitrogen-filled bags for safe shipping.
- Demonstration of brazing capabilities using copper/gold braze alloys, including equipment and workflow documentation.
- Prior manufacturing experience with similar products for national laboratories, with at least 5 years in precision ultra-high vacuum components.

Place of Performance
The products will be delivered to SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory located at 2575 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park, California.
