Description

The Iridium Satcom Repeaters in lab areas within DMEA will facilitate functional and environmental
testing where DMEA does not currently possess sky view to test satellite transmission.

Background
Recently DMEA’s primary QRE client has requested DMEA’s Iridium SatCom systems with onboard antennas be tested to rigorous performance specifications. In order to support this, the devices must be able to communicate wirelessly with the Iridium Satellite network while in test chambers/laboratories that inhibit direct communication with the Satellites. Installing Iridium repeaters in DMEA’s RF and environmental test laboratories allows the Iridium signal to be collected via rooftop antenna and rebroadcast within the laboratories and test chambers.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide three (3) Iridium Repeater kits that include necessary antennas and wiring in addition to the main repeater unit. The repeater kits shall be the Iridium coaxial repeater kit; Product Name: Global Foxcom, Part Number: IRIDKIT01X; each having one (1) AC Powered outdoor rated repeater unit, two (2) outdoor antennas, two (2) indoor antennas, two (2) 20-meter-long RF Cables for the indoor antennas, and two (2) 5-meter-long RF cables for the outdoor antennas. Power Requirement: The Repeater units shall be powered by 120 VAC line power utilizing less than 15 AMPs. Warranty Requirement: The Repeater units shall have a two (2) year warranty. Operators Manual Required.
