Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Internship Program

Background
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is seeking to establish an Internship Program to bring diverse talent into the federal government and provide students of all majors with professional experience. The program aims to recruit and retain the next generation of public servants, addressing the significant rate of retirements in the federal workforce. The IRS is looking for contractor support to obtain external talent and fill critical hiring needs.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for various tasks including recruitment of talented students, screening and selecting candidates for the internship program, supporting onboarding and orientation processes, providing ongoing program management support, organizing professional development activities for interns, evaluating interns' performance, reporting progress and outcomes of the internship program to the IRS, and assisting in evaluating the overall effectiveness of the Internship Program.

The program seeks to enhance interns' professional skills and competencies through meaningful work assignments, mentorship, and training opportunities; provide practical experience in various areas of public service; foster networking and collaboration among interns; and cultivate leadership skills and qualities in interns.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is from the date of award to September 1, 2024.

Place of Performance
In-person internship opportunities will be available in the Washington, D.C. area, while fully virtual internships can be conducted throughout the United States.
