Intent to Sole Source to POLITICO, LLC for POLITICO Pro

Under authority of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13.106-1(b), the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Fossil Energy (FE) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with POLITICO, LLC (POLITICO), 1000 WILSON BLVD, ARLINGTON, VA, 22209-3927, as the only capable source that can provide POLITICO Pro. Correspondingly, based on the foregoing authority under the FAR, the DOE intends to award on a sole source basis.

The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS): 513110-NEWSPAPER PUBLISHERS.

Politico Pro, LLC offers real-time coverage on defense and budget topics, which is meaningful to functions like the Communications/Operations department within the Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management (FECM) because in the news reporting environment, immediacy and relevancy of breaking news is at the core and vital to FECM's organizational success.

POLITICO Pro also offers individual customizable access to minute-to-minute news coverage from specialized policy reporting teams; early bird access (by 6 AM daily) to morning Defense coverage; as well as subscriber-only Defense Report; access to in-depth coverage, calendar of relevant events/speakers, and an interactive community of thought leaders; and attendance at all events and panel discussions that feature opinion leaders in journalism and private industry, as well as leading lawmakers. Market Research was conducted, and POLITICO was identified as the only source capable of meeting the Government's requirements. No other appropriate sources were identified capable of meeting the Government's requirements; therefore, a sole source solicitation is required with POLITICO. POLITICO is the sole provider of the POLITICO Pro.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotes and no solicitation document will exist for this requirement. However, companies interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data, including price and sufficient documentation to determine capabilities and qualifications in meeting or exceeding the Government's Requirements. All statements received by the closing date of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Companies interested in responding to this notice:

2. Shall submit their responses by no later than the closing date of this notice.
