Project Authorization: Indian River Inlet is located in Sussex County, Delaware, adjacent to the Delaware Seashore State Park. The Indian River Inlet federal navigation project authorization includes stabilizing the inlet by parallel jetties 500 ft apart constructed in 1940; a navigation channel generally 200 ft wide and 15 ft deep from the inner ends of the jetties to a point in the Bay substantially 7000 ft from the ocean shoreline, a channel 9 ft deep, 100 ft wide in the Bay and 80 ft wide in the River, from that depth in the existing channel in Indian River Bay to and including a turning basin 9 ft deep, 175 ft wide and 300 ft long at Old Landing; then about 8200 ft to highway bridge at Millsboro, 60 ft wide, 4 ft deep.

The event will be held at the Delaware Seashore State Park, North Inlet Day Area, 39183 Inlet Road, Rehoboth Beach, DE, followed by a meeting in the Delaware Seashore State Park office located at 39415 Inlet Road, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971, on March 05, 2025, from 10:30 pm to 12:30 pm. The purpose and focus of the event will be to seek marine construction industry input and their questions regarding best practices for the technical execution of the repair of degraded sections of the north rubble mound jetty and construction of a north jetty head at Indian River Inlet. Work is in a dynamic coastal environment with complex hydrodynamics and steep slopes into the tidal inlet. Staging areas will be provided adjacent to the inlet and within Delaware Seashore State Park.

Subsequent to the site visit at the Delaware Seashore State Park office, a meeting will follow for attendees to have the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback or concerns.
