The contractor shall provide industrial water treatment chemicals and testing reagents for the Boiler Systems at Hill AFB, Little moutain and the Utah Test and Training Range. Chemical additives are used to improve feed-water quality, steam purity, and to correct the problems caused by the feed-water impurities, which could impact boiler operation and efficiency. There are currently 28 active boiler plants on Hill AFB, one of which is used only in the summer when the main boiler plants are shut off. Quantities purchased by Hill AFB during the year may vary depending on weather condition, actual needs shall be dictated by each individual delivery order. The contemplated contract will be a five-Year IDIQ with a five-year ordering period and an optional six-month odering period.
