Background
The contract is for brush and tree clearing services at Eielson AFB in Alaska. The work involves clearing approximately 12 miles of power line right-of-ways to prevent trees from coming into contact with high voltage overhead power lines and to keep the right-of-ways clear for maintenance purposes.
The total area to be cleared is approximately 50 acres.

Work Details
The contractor is required to furnish all labor, transportation, materials, engineering, and equipment for the brush and tree clearing services. This includes cutting, stripping, and stacking trees 6 inches in diameter and larger at 4 feet above the ground in a specified location near the site. Additionally, all other vegetation such as tops, branches, stumps, and brush that can be cleared must be mulched and pulverized to no more than 2 inches in diameter and left spread on site.
The contractor must also ensure that any debris tossed onto the roads from machinery is cleared off by the end of the work day. Industry standard means including heavy equipment (excavator, dozer, skid steer, trucks) and hand-held equipment (chain saws, grinders) are to be used for the clearing services. The contractor is responsible for removing any damaged trees outside the cutting line upon Government inspection at no additional cost.

The contract will be performed at Eielson AFB in Alaska.
