Background
The contract is issued by the Agricultural Research Service (ARS), part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The mission of ARS is to conduct research to develop and transfer solutions to agricultural problems of high national priority.

The goal of this contract is to install a heating and cooling system for a portable office at the Coastal Plains Soil, Water, and Plant Research Center located in Florence, South Carolina.

Work Details
The work includes the installation of an HVAC system for an existing portable office that consists of six offices. The contractor must manage all aspects of the work effort, including planning, scheduling, cost accounting, report preparation, and quality control.

The contractor is responsible for providing qualified personnel knowledgeable about safety and environmental requirements. Materials and equipment cannot be stored on-site after hours without prior approval. If any utilities need to be interrupted due to scheduled work, the contractor must notify the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) 24 hours in advance. The contractor must also ensure compliance with OSHA standards and maintain proper employee conduct on site.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is from January 31, 2025, to June 2, 2025.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the Coastal Plains Soil, Water, and Plant Research Center located at 2611 West Lucas Street, Florence, SC 29501.
