Houston Ship Channel – Placement Area Shoreline Protection, Galveston County, Texas

Background
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District has a requirement for the Houston Ship Channel – Placement Area Shoreline Protection in Galveston County, Texas. The purpose of this sources sought synopsis is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities, and qualifications of various members of industry, including the Small Business Community. The Government must ensure there is adequate competition of responsible firms.

Work Details
The scope of this contract is to repair and replace shoreline protection for PAs 14, 15, and Mid Bay. Shoreline repairs will be limited to small portions of each PA that have degraded over time. The contract may include repairs to the outside face of existing dikes, removal/replacement of existing shoreline protection, and installation of attached breakwater to NW end of PA 15.
Contractors should demonstrate construction experience as a prime contractor working on Dredged Material Placement Areas and observe the typical wet conditions associated with them. They should also expect to use equipment with low ground pressure due to the soft/wet material in which the equipment will be operating.

Period of Performance
Complete the entire work ready for use not later than 270 calendar days after the date the Contractor receives the Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed in Galveston County, Texas.
