Hardin Ridge Wastewater Treatment Plant Maintenance B+4 for Hoosier National Forest   2

Background
The contract involves the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant at Hardin Ridge Recreation Area in the Hoosier National Forest. The treatment plant serves the 210-site campground and is operational from April 01st through November 01st. The system is a Class 1, 0.034 MGD extended aeration treatment facility consisting of various components including aeration/clarification units, sludge holding tank, sand filter, ultraviolet light disinfection, and phosphorus removal. The plant operator must hold a current Class 1 wastewater treatment certification with the State of Indiana. The successful offeror will be responsible for adhering to all conditions set forth in Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) permit # IN0024953.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for performing duties related to the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment facility, ensuring that all systems associated with the treatment plant are clean, maintained, and in proper operating order. This includes tasks such as maintaining equipment, conducting testing outlined in the permit, interpreting test results, and applying them to system control.
Additionally, reporting requirements include but are not limited to: PH, TSS, ammonia, phosphorous, settable solids, dissolved oxygen, temperature, and flow ratings. The operator must also send weekly lab test data to the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) within 3 days of obtaining the data or within 24 hours if a permit violation is found.
Furthermore, the operator will be required to collect and test samples for coliforms at the beach prior to opening and continue weekly until after closing.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed during the months of April through November each year.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at Hardin Ridge Recreation Area in the Hoosier National Forest.
