Background
The U.S. Army Contracting Command - Detroit Arsenal is issuing this solicitation for a Handheld Laser Welder to support its mission of providing advanced manufacturing capabilities. The goal of the contract is to procure a high-performance laser welder that meets specific technical requirements and enhances operational efficiency in welding applications.

Work Details
The contract includes the procurement of a Handheld Laser Welder with the following specifications:
- **Manufacturers 3-year Warranty** for parts and labor.
- **Power Requirements**: Input power of 32A, 240V, single phase.
- **Laser Output**: 2000 W Average, 3000 W peak power class 4 primary laser; includes a Class 2 Guide laser for positioning the torch nozzle prior to start.
- **Functionality**: Capable of spot, autogenous, and wire welding along with cleaning functions; cleaning setting needs to range from 800-1000W.
- **Process Gasses**: Argon, Nitrogen, and Argon/CO2 mix.
- **Welding Capabilities**: Wire autogenous/spot welds steel, stainless steel, and aluminum from 20GA to 1/4in thicknesses; wire autogenous/spot welds copper from 18 GA to 1/8in.
- **Metal Types**: Mild steel, stainless steel, galvanized aluminum, and dissimilar metals (e.g., stainless steel to copper).
- **Portability**: Weight without accessories must be less than 145 lbs.
