SEE CONTINUATION PAGE FOR DETAILED INFORMATION. Page 2 of 2 Are we able to swap the extinguishers with comparable extinguishers? Answer: The scope of work is to perform 6-year maintenance and 5-year hydrostatic testing on our inventory of fire extinguishers. Allowing a swap out of fire extinguishers could/would result in receiving swapped out extinguishers that could/would be due for 6-year maintenance/5-year testing sooner than the 6-year/5-year period of time afforded by the requested 6-year maintenance/5-year testing. Additionally, since all of our fire extinguishers are linked by serial number to a specific location which is used by our staff to do monthly inspections and by the contractor who does the annual inspections, swapping out fire extinguishers would require a significant amount of time and resources to makes the changes to the inventory that we cannot afford to do. So, the answer is no, it would not work to swap out fire extinguishers. Will the fire extinguishers be bundled, or will we need to collect them from their operational positions throughout the New Orleans VA hospital? Answer: They will not be bundled. What time frame will we be permitted to complete this project? Answer: Two to three weeks preferred, no longer than four weeks. Can this project be broken up over a specified time period or will it need to be done all at once? Answer: Done all at once, consecutive weeks. Are all these fire extinguishers listed gathered up and ready to be picked up and serviced then returned to the same place? Answer: No, the fire extinguishers are currently in designated locations. They will have to be collected, serviced, and returned in groups based on the number of spare fire extinguishers we have on hand. Will they be required to be picked up individually at each house and returned to each? And since there is so many how long of a time frame will be given from start to finish? Answer: Two to three weeks, no longer than four weeks.
