Personal Radiation Monitoring
Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Gulf Coast Veterans Healthcare System (GCVHCS), is seeking to establish a contract for Personal Radiation Monitoring Services. The goal of this contract is to ensure compliance with regulations set forth by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regarding dosimetry programs, which are critical for maintaining safe operations in nuclear medicine and radiology. The contract will provide necessary monitoring services to prevent severe penalties or operational disruptions due to non-compliance.

Work Details
The contractor will provide personal radiation monitoring services including:
1. Supply and processing of personal dosimeters (badges) for approximately 178 body dosimeters and 13 finger ring dosimeters quarterly.

2. Ensure that all dosimetry devices are accredited by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP).

3. Deliver dosimetry devices 15 days prior to exchange dates, with provisions for expedited shipping within 3 business days if requested.

4. Provide detailed reports on radiation doses in units of mrem for various exposure types.

5. Maintain a system for tracking user additions, deletions, and changes exclusively through the Radiation Safety Officer.

6. Ensure that all shipments include packing lists detailing badge types, control identification, and wear periods.

Period of Performance
The base period of performance is one year, with four optional twelve-month renewals available.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various locations under the Gulf Coast Veterans Healthcare System including Biloxi, Mobile, Pensacola, and Panama City.
