Grounds Maintenance Services, Clearwater Project Office

Background
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is issuing a contract for grounds maintenance services at Clearwater Lake, Missouri. The goal of this contract is to ensure that the grounds are maintained in a manner that promotes the growth of healthy grass, trees, shrubs, and plants while presenting a clean and professional appearance.

The contractor will provide all necessary management, personnel, equipment, tools, supervision, and other items required to fulfill this mission.

Work Details
The contractor shall perform the following tasks:
1. Type I Mowing: Conducted from April 1 to October 15 for 7 months; maintain grass height between 4 to 6 inches.
2. Type II Mowing: Conducted from April 1 to October 15 for 7 months; maintain grass height between 4 to 8 inches.
3. Leaf Mulching/Removal: Typically performed from November through February for 4 months.
4. Herbicide Application: Performed approximately every 40 days during the growing season (April to September).

The contractor must ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws as well as standards set by the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS). All mowing and trimming must be completed in designated areas before moving to another area, with debris removed prior to mowing. Trimming around obstacles must be done within 24 hours after mowing. The contractor is also responsible for maintaining equipment in good working condition and ensuring safety protocols are followed.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on March 1 or upon date of award and will continue through February 28 of the following year.
