Background
The San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, constructed in the early 1990s, is one of approximately 155 National Cemeteries managed by the Department of Veterans Affairs, National Cemetery Administration.

This contract aims to provide grounds maintenance and support for ceremonies at the cemetery, ensuring that Veterans and their families receive an optimal final resting place. The contract includes a base year plus four option years.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items necessary for grounds maintenance and support for ceremonies.

Key tasks include:
- Maintaining visually prominent areas such as burial sections, committal service shelters, columbaria, memorial walkways, and public buildings;
- Ensuring site cleanliness;
- Maintaining turf and cemetery infrastructure;
- Managing grave markers;
- Supporting ceremonial activities.

The contractor must also develop a Quality Control Plan (QCP) to ensure services meet performance standards. Specific exclusions from this contract include interior janitorial services and irrigation management.

Period of Performance
The period of performance is for one base year of 12 months with four additional 12-month option years if exercised.
