Government Island Vault Pumping Services for the Hiawatha National Forest

Background
The US Forest Service, CSA#6 Team, has issued a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items for vault (toilet) pumping services on the Hiawatha National Forest, Ignace Ranger District, Government Island, located in Michigan. The contract is anticipated to be a firm fixed price contract and will have a base year and four option periods. Contractors are required to be actively registered with the System for Award Management (SAM) at https://www.sam.gov to be considered for award.

Work Details
The scope of work includes servicing two vault toilets on Government Island once per year for five years. This involves transporting equipment by barge to two locations identified on the attached map, pumping two 1,000-gallon vault toilets, requiring a minimum of 700 linear feet of hose to pump vault toilets at these locations, and disposing of waste product in accordance with local and federal regulations. Forest recreation personnel will escort the vendor on Government Island.

Base Year Period of Performance: August 1, 2024 – September 15, 2024
Option Year One Period of Performance: June 1, 2025 – August 31, 2025
Option Year Two Period of Performance: June 1, 2026 – August 31, 2026
Option Year Three Period of Performance: June 1, 2027 – August 31, 2027
Option Year Four Period of Performance: June 1, 2028 – August 31, 2028

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed on Government Island in Hiawatha National Forest, MI, 49719. The barge service will be in Cedarville, Michigan by Flotation Docking.
