Global Freight Management (GFM) is designed to provide DoD Transportation Officers with the
ability to electronically procure commercial freight transportation services to support our nation's
war fighting efforts. This contract will enable sustainment of the ability to access commercial
shipping of freight via motor, rail, barge, pipeline, air and small package via tender and contract
utilizing the Global Freight Management system.

Background
The United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) is seeking sources that possess the availability and capability to provide support of GFM in system operations, maintenance and development. GFM is a complex, n-tiered system comprised of many components. The GFM system is comprised of 23 applications sustained by the contractor. Most of these applications are developed using Java, which are hosted on RHEL servers and utilize Apache Tomcat. GFM uses an Oracle database. Many trading partners interact with GFM using Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) files, and GFM uses Axway to translate EDI to a User Defined File (UDF) and Java EDI (JEDI) to move the data between the translator and GFM servers. Some trading partners interact with GFM using eXtensible Markup Language (XML) file exchange and web services as well.

Work Details
The contract will involve providing support for Global Freight Management (GFM) to enable sustainment of the ability to access commercial shipping of freight via motor, rail, barge, pipeline, air, and small package via tender and contract utilizing the Global Freight Management system. The specific tasks include but are not limited to: DevSecOps, Automated Resiliency, Web Services, Platform Agnostic objectives, Project Analysis, Application & Oracle System Operations & Maintenance, Database Administration, Configuration Management (CM), Information Assurance (IA), Writing Secure Application Software, RMF Accreditation Sustainment, Cloud Migration and Optimization, Cloud Native Refactoring or Redevelopment.
