Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Unified Naval Streaming System (GUNSS) implementation on Navy ships

The Common Standards Interoperability (CSI) Team under PEO (U&W) has been tasked via Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Speed to the Fleet (S2F) effort to provide a solution to the Commander, Naval Air Forces and Commander, Fleet Forces Command urgent requirement for improving the collection, processing, analysis, dissemination, and exploitation of Visual Information (VI) including still image photography, full motion video (FMV), audio, and metadata. The Common Systems Interoperability (CSI) team will addresses this existing gap by utilizing existing technologies such as the Unified Video Dissemination System (UVDS) and the Global Broadcast System (GBS) and integrating a prototype solution into Navy ships. VI will be disseminated to ship workstations utilizing the SIPR/CANES network, providing a common solution to fleet users and minimizing multiple request for the same information that currently impact limited ship's bandwidth availability. Developing this prototype requires analysis, design, information assurance, HW and SW procurement, test, ship change documentation and installation.
