This project consists of site improvements to the Kneff Lake Day Use Area. The existing concrete block retaining wall will be removed. A new, tiered boulder wall will be constructed to expand the main beach area. The bottom landing on the main concrete stair will be reconstructed. A kayak boat roller system will be installed on the existing west staircase. Work includes, but is not limited to, mobilization, construction staking, SESC, cofferdams, clearing and grubbing, removal of block wall, aggregate base placement, sheet pile, miscellaneous concrete structures, landscape boulders, placing topsoil and restoration.

Background

Work Details
The project involves various construction tasks such as removing and constructing retaining walls, reconstructing stair landings, and installing a boat roller system. The work also includes tasks like mobilization, construction staking, SESC (Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control), cofferdams, clearing and grubbing, aggregate base placement, sheet pile installation, landscape boulder placement, topsoil placement and restoration.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for the contract is from 11/15/2023 to 09/30/2024.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at Kneff Lake Campground in Crawford County. The driving directions to the site are provided as follows: From Grayling – Travel east on M-72 for 6.5 miles. Turn right and travel south on Stephan Bridge Road for 1 mile. Turn left and travel east on FR 4003 and drive about 1 mile.
