Roman Catholic Priest - Chaplain Services

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Network Contracting Office NCO 19, is issuing this solicitation for Roman Catholic Priest - Chaplain Services. The goal of this contract is to provide faith-specific ministry to veteran patients at the George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center and Valor House in Salt Lake City, Utah. This service aims to meet the spiritual needs of veterans who request such ministry, in alignment with VHA Directive 1111.

Work Details
The contractor will provide Roman Catholic Faith Specific Ministry to veteran patients only and at their request. Services include:
- Conducting religious services (Mass) once per week for a maximum of 30 minutes;
- Providing sacramental ministry upon patient request;
- Offering spiritual consultations; and
- Responding to emergency calls for last rites and anointing of the sick.

The contractor must maintain a religiously neutral space in accordance with VHA Directive 1111 and cannot solicit donations or distribute promotional materials without prior approval. The contractor will document services provided, including start and stop times, patient names/room numbers, and reasons for visits. All services must be performed by an ordained Roman Catholic priest who is in good standing with the Church.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center located at 500 Foothill Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah 84148, and Valor House at 720 Valdez Drive, Salt Lake City, UT 84113.
